An interactive Excel tool to collect, prioritise and trace requirements (by Use Case) is available at empirica. Among others, it can also be used for surveys among staff and to calculate the result.

Data

Data requirements provide a detailed description of the data model that the system must use to fulfill its functional requirements. Users and developers work jointly in defining the domain data model.

This category is referenced with the capital “D” or “3”.

R3.1. Measuring Unit (DMU)

Specifies the following requirements associated with the units that are used by metering and sensoring devices.

R3.1.1 m³ Unit of Volume of gas and fluids. R3.1.2 kWh Unit of Energy either in an electric circuit or as a measure of Wattage consumed. R3.1.3 V Unit of Voltage in an electric circuit. R3.1.4 A Unit of Amperage in an electric circuit R3.1.5 °C Unit of air and fluid Temperature inside or outside. R3.1.6 % Percentage of air Humidity inside or outside. R3.1.7 bar Unit for Air Pressure R3.1.8 m² Unit of Surface inside and outside of buildings. R3.1.9 m/s Unit of Air Velocity. R3.1.10 CO2 Unit for Carbon dioxide. R3.1.11 Lumen Unit of Light Intensity emitted by artificial light. R3.1.12 page Count of number of pages printed and / or copied. R3.1.13 tree Count of number of trees inside or outside of building that might affect humidity etc. R3.1.14 plant Count of number of plants inside or outside of building that might affect humidity etc. R3.1.15 GeoPosition Position of a location according to geo-standards R3.1.16 Integer/Number If no unit above applies, the data will be counted (e.g number of lift rides).

R3.2. Measuring Interval (DMI)

Specifies the following requirements associated with the intervals with which measuring and sensoring units record data or in which data can be displayed.

R3.2.1 1 Minutes R3.2.2 15 Minutes R3.2.3 20 Minutes R3.2.4 30 Minutes R3.2.5 1 hour Equals 60 minutes. R3.2.6 6 hours R3.2.7 1 day Equals 24 hours. R3.2.8 1 week Equals 7 days. R3.2.9 1 months Equals 30 days R3.2.10 Quarterly Equals three months. R3.2.11 Semi-annually Equals six months or two quarters. R3.2.12 1 year Equals 365,25 days R3.2.13 Once Measured only once for persistent information (e.g. location)

R3.3. Measuring Granularity (DMG)

Specifies the following requirements associated with the location and granularity of measuring and sensoring units

R3.3.1 Environment Sensors and data outside of the building. R3.3.2 Building Meters and sensors within or for an entire building. R3.3.3 Floor Meters and sensors within or for a floor. R3.3.3 Room Meters and sensors within or for a room. R3.3.4 Zone Meters and sensors within or for a zone which is a part of an enclosed room.

R3.4. Range (DRA)

Specifies the following requirements associated with the range of data entries to be recorded by meters and sensors.

R3.4.1 < -50 R3.4.2 -50 to +50 R3.4.3 0 to 100 R3.4.4 0 to 1000 R3.4.5 900 to 1100 R3.4.6 >0

R3.5. Data Types (DDT)

Specifies the following requirements associated with the data types to be stored in a database from the recordings by meters and sensors.

R3.5.1 Integer R3.5.2 Floating point (single precision) R3.5.3 Floating point (double precision) R3.5.4 Fixed point
